A Love Other Than Yours Episode 5, titled 'Are There Any Untold Stories Between Us?', pushes Namgung Ho and Lee Mi-do's already fragile relationship into a far more dangerous emotional territory. After ten years together and with marriage now on the horizon, the couple continues to behave as though they can protect their relationship by keeping uncomfortable truths to themselves. Instead, the secrets surrounding their lives begin to create an increasingly difficult distance between them. The episode opens with Mi-do waking up at Han Tae-seung's office, leaving her deeply uncomfortable as she tries to explain what happened to Ho. She tells him that she became drunk and simply fell asleep there, but the situation immediately highlights the growing emotional connection between Mi-do and Tae-seung. Ho notices a mysterious contact and unanswered questions surrounding Mi-do's phone, making it increasingly difficult for him to ignore the feeling that there are parts of her life she has stopped sharing with him. At the same time, Ho discovers a much more serious secret involving his biological mother, Hwa-young. Mi-do has been secretly sending money to Hwa-young for more than two years. Ho already suspects that his mother may have pressured or threatened Mi-do into helping her financially, and the revelation becomes another painful reminder of the complicated history he has spent years trying to keep under control. Mi-do insists that the money was connected to helping with living expenses and was not something Ho needed to take responsibility for, but Ho refuses to simply leave the matter unresolved. Ho eventually confronts Hwa-young directly. Their meeting exposes years of resentment and emotional wounds between mother and son. Hwa-young's history of abandoning Ho and later creating financial problems for him has left him carrying a deep sense of hurt, even though he has never been completely capable of turning his back on her. Their confrontation becomes physical and emotionally explosive, showing how much unresolved pain still exists beneath Ho's normally calm and friendly personality. Meanwhile, the relationship between Ho and Park Soo-ah begins moving into unfamiliar territory. Their connection goes back a decade, when Ho encountered Soo-ah during a difficult period of his own life. That old memory of Ho's kindness has remained important to Soo-ah, and her feelings are beginning to change into something more personal. Their unexpected meeting away from the office, including their time together at a sauna, creates another layer of tension because Ho is already committed to marrying Mi-do. The episode deliberately leaves the nature of their growing closeness complicated rather than presenting it as a simple romance. Mi-do's professional crisis also continues to influence her emotional decisions. Her struggles as a filmmaker have left her exhausted, frightened, and increasingly uncertain about whether she still wants to pursue the career she once cared deeply about. Tae-seung understands this conflict in a way that Ho has not fully recognized. Rather than simply encouraging Mi-do to continue with her existing life, Tae-seung directly confronts the possibility that she wants to run away from the pressure surrounding her career, relationship, and expectations. The emotional tension reaches its strongest point near the end of the episode. Tae-seung seeks Mi-do out because he cannot stop thinking about her and wants to understand whether what happened between them was only a moment or something more significant. He sees through the confidence she tries to maintain and tells her that she is afraid of making films and wants to escape, particularly because she feels guilty and embarrassed in front of Ho. His words strike at feelings that even Ho has failed to recognize. In the final moments, Tae-seung asks Mi-do if she wants him to help her escape and then suddenly kisses her. Mi-do does not reject the kiss, creating a major turning point in the story and fundamentally changing the emotional balance between the three characters. With Ho already facing the painful truth about his mother, Soo-ah becoming increasingly important in his life, and Mi-do developing an undeniable connection with Tae-seung, Episode 5 establishes that the couple's ten-year relationship can no longer survive simply through habit, loyalty, and unspoken promises.
