A Shop for Killers Season 2 Episode 2, titled Recluse, shifts the story into a new phase as Jeong Ji-an attempts to leave the violent world surrounding Murthehelp behind. After the events of the first season, Jin-man tells Ji-an that the dangerous choices he made, including his involvement in the arms trade, were ultimately connected to his desire to protect her. Ji-an, however, no longer wants to live inside the world her uncle created and decides to disappear using a new identity prepared by Jin-man. Before leaving, Ji-an receives several important items from Brother, including an emergency phone and a flash drive. She then relocates to Hanam-do, a quiet island community where she tries to build an ordinary life far away from Murthehelp and Babylon. A year later, Ji-an has settled into the local community and works at a fish market with several older women. From the outside, her new existence appears peaceful, but the events of the previous year continue to affect her. Ji-an remains extremely cautious and has turned her home into a defensive position filled with surveillance cameras and traps. She continues suffering from disturbing visions of Lee Seong-jo, the assassin she killed during the Murthehelp attack. When Jeom-rye's grandson Woo-jin accidentally triggers one of Ji-an's traps while trying to check on her, Ji-an immediately reaches for her gun before realizing that he is not an attacker. The encounter reveals how difficult it has become for her to completely separate ordinary life from the danger she experienced before. Meanwhile, Jin-man continues his efforts to protect Ji-an from Babylon. An attorney named Jang In-seop arranges a meeting that appears to be connected to negotiations, but Jin-man quickly realizes that Babylon operatives are positioned around the location. Rather than walking into the trap, he observes the meeting from a distance and contacts Jang directly. Jin-man makes his demands clear: Ji-an and the people connected to him must be removed from Babylon's target list. In exchange, he is willing to discuss returning the Babylon server he previously obtained. Jin-man also makes it clear that Murthehelp will remain inactive while negotiations continue. His strategy is designed to create enough distance between Ji-an and the organization so that she can maintain the normal life she has chosen. However, Babylon's leadership has little interest in accepting Jin-man's conditions. A major change takes place inside Babylon when Kusanagi Jin arrives from the organization's East Asia branch. She confronts Lee Yong-han over the chaos caused by Jin-man and informs him that she will take responsibility for dealing with Jin-man herself. Her arrival demonstrates that the conflict has expanded beyond Babylon's Korean operation and that a much more powerful level of the organization is now becoming involved. Kusanagi's intervention is followed by a carefully executed assassination. A foreign worker who arrives on the Korean coast with a group of others secretly separates from the group and begins tracking Yong-han. He has only a limited amount of time before he must return to the boat, turning the assignment into a precisely timed operation. The assassin eventually confronts Yong-han inside a building and kills him before quietly returning to the boat. After completing the mission, the assassin contacts Kusanagi and confirms that Yong-han has been eliminated. The death removes Babylon's previous Korean leader and confirms that Kusanagi is willing to reorganize the operation through decisive action rather than continue the existing arrangement. Back on Hanam-do, Ji-an's attempt at a quiet life begins to unravel. After one of her defensive traps damages her phone, she decides to travel to the mainland to replace it. She visits a Thai restaurant because it reminds her of Pasin, but while there she notices a man who appears to have followed her from the bus. Ji-an immediately becomes suspicious and confronts him outside the restaurant. The apparent threat turns out to be a misunderstanding: the man was attempting to return the phone Ji-an accidentally left behind. Nevertheless, the encounter triggers another disturbing vision of Seong-jo, showing that Ji-an's memories of the previous battle remain deeply connected to her everyday life. Because of the delay, Ji-an misses the final boat back to Hanam-do. She contacts Woo-jin, who agrees to pick her up by boat. During the journey, the pair encounter a coast guard inspection. Woo-jin becomes visibly nervous and begins throwing boxes into the sea before they can be inspected. Ji-an is shocked when she discovers that the boxes contain firearms. The situation becomes even more suspicious when Ji-an sees a message on Woo-jin's phone connected to Murthehelp. The discovery suggests that the quiet island community she chose as a refuge may not be as disconnected from the world of assassins and weapons as she believed. At the same time, Jin-man learns that the negotiations with Babylon have failed to provide the protection he wanted for Ji-an. Instead of removing her from danger, Babylon places a bounty on her. The decision immediately destroys the possibility of Ji-an remaining completely hidden from the organization and ensures that new assassins will begin searching for her. Episode 2 marks the beginning of Ji-an's return to the dangerous world she attempted to escape. While she tries to establish a peaceful life on Hanam-do, hidden connections to Murthehelp begin appearing around her. Meanwhile, Jin-man's negotiations collapse, Yong-han is eliminated, and Kusanagi takes control of Babylon's response. The episode ends with a new bounty on Ji-an's head, setting up the next stage of the conflict between Murthehelp and Babylon.
