A Shop for Killers Episode 7, titled Trap, returns to the aftermath of Bale's unexpected survival and reveals how his revenge against Jin-man begins to destroy everything around him. After escaping the explosion that was believed to have killed him, Bale sets his sights on Jin-man and the people closest to him. Jin-man realizes that the threat is no longer limited to Babylon's organization and that Bale's personal hatred makes him impossible to control. The episode begins with Jin-man trying to protect Min-hye after the events of his final Babylon mission. He sends her to his friend Honda, an arms dealer who agrees to keep her hidden. Jin-man then returns to his family after learning that his mother has become seriously ill. His mother encourages him to repair his relationship with his younger brother and spend more time with Ji-an. During this period, Jin-man also reunites with Min-hye and discovers that she has developed enough skill to assemble firearms on her own. Meanwhile, Bale quietly begins his revenge. He infiltrates the hospital and kills Jin-man's mother, making it appear as though her death was natural. At the funeral, Seong-jo and Bale continue their attack on Jin-man's family. Jin-man's brother and sister-in-law are murdered and the scene is manipulated to resemble a tragic domestic incident. Jin-man senses that something is wrong, but by the time he understands the scale of the attack, Bale's operation is already underway. Jung-cheol eventually warns Jin-man that Bale is alive and that his family is being targeted. Jin-man immediately asks Honda to protect Ji-an while he tries to confront the people hunting him. Before Honda can safely escape, however, Seong-jo and his men track him down and kill him. Honda's death becomes another devastating loss for Jin-man and removes one of the few people he trusted outside his family. At Honda's house, two Babylon operatives attempt to capture Min-hye. Despite being outnumbered, Min-hye uses her combat and shooting skills to eliminate both attackers. After discovering that Honda has been killed, she sets the house on fire and escapes, refusing to allow Babylon to take her alive. Jin-man is also ambushed while moving through a tunnel. Although badly pressured by the attackers, he manages to turn the fight around and escape. Injured and desperate for help, he eventually reaches Pasin. Jin-man asks Pasin for a weapon and admits that he feels responsible for what Bale became. Years earlier, Jin-man had refused to testify against Bale after witnessing his crimes, allowing Bale to continue killing innocent people. Jin-man now believes that his failure to stop Bale is partly responsible for the suffering surrounding him. While Jin-man searches for a way to protect Ji-an, Babylon's leadership attempts to control Bale. General Lee Yong-han tells Bale to stop his personal campaign against Jin-man and promises that Babylon will deal with the problem. Bale, however, has no intention of obeying. His hatred for Jin-man has become personal, and even Babylon's authority is unable to make him abandon his pursuit. Ji-an is also placed in danger. While staying at the hospital, she senses that something is wrong and escapes from her room. She hides inside the hospital's mortuary area beside her mother's body as the attackers search for her. Jin-man arrives just in time to rescue her. During their escape, he catches sight of Bale, and the two finally see each other again after Bale's supposed death. Jin-man then confronts General Lee Yong-han and makes it clear that he will retaliate if Babylon continues attacking his family. He warns Yong-han that he has already lost almost everyone he cared about and refuses to allow Ji-an to become another victim. When Yong-han later asks Bale to stop, Bale simply laughs, demonstrating that the revenge has moved beyond Babylon's control. Knowing that Bale will continue hunting him regardless of what Babylon decides, Jin-man begins developing a long-term strategy. He realizes that simply running away will never protect Ji-an, so he starts building a secure home and planning the foundations of the underground shopping mall that will later become Murthehelp. He brings Honda's younger brother, later known as Brother, into his protection and gives him responsibility for maintaining the future facility. Pasin also brings Min-hye back into Jin-man's circle so that she can continue developing her combat abilities. The episode ends with Jin-man beginning to prepare Ji-an for the dangerous world surrounding their family. Instead of keeping her completely unaware, he starts teaching her how to use a firearm. What appears to be an ordinary training session is actually the beginning of Jin-man's long-term preparation for the day when Ji-an will have to protect herself without him. Episode 7 serves as the bridge between Jin-man's violent past and the creation of Murthehelp. Bale's revenge destroys Jin-man's family and forces him to abandon his former life, while the deaths of Honda and other allies convince him that ordinary protection will never be enough. His decision to build the shopping mall, gather trusted allies, and train Ji-an ultimately lays the foundation for the events of the present-day story.
