On the Imjin River railway bridge, with forces from both sides locked in a standoff, he sends a car crashing off the bridge and vanishes. He rushes straight from the mission to the hospital, where his wife Yoo-jin gives birth to their daughter Min-ji — and dies moments later. With her last breath, she asks him to leave everything behind and live only as Min-ji's father. He points a gun at his own boss and demands immediate discharge. That chapter closes. Back in the present, the episode reveals what truly happened to Min-ji the night she disappeared. Hye-ri and her group used Nam-hoon's phone to lure her to a vacant lot near a demolition site. When Min-ji refused to kneel, Hye-ri struck her with a brick, leaving her unconscious and bleeding. Believing she was dead, the group handed her over to a criminal named Gold Tooth, who loaded her into a car trunk — but his smile hinted at a different plan. Now fully reactivated, Manager Kim pulls a hidden equipment case from his home and raids the hideout of loan shark Oh Min-cheol, dropping his men in seconds. When Min-cheol mocks him about juvenile offenders and the law, Kim draws a gun and delivers the episode's most chilling line: 'If you lose your parents, you're called an orphan. If you lose your husband, you're called a widow. But there is no word for a parent who loses a child. Juvenile offender? Nice phrase. Then I'll be a lawless middle-aged man.' He shoots Min-cheol in the thigh and warns him everyone dies if Min-ji is already gone. Then a message arrives: 'The girl's body has been handled.' Kim breaks — one silent tear. But the episode ends at the police station, where a call suddenly comes in from Min-ji's own phone.
