Episode 3 opens in the immediate aftermath of the plunge that closed out the previous episode, as Gang-uk and Yeo-ri surface from the water and finally recover the body they came searching for: missing fashion design student Da-mi. What looks at first like an accidental drowning quickly reveals itself as murder, and the two piece together, through Gang-uk's forensic legwork and Yeo-ri's spectral tip-offs, that the culprit is a celebrated fashion designer who had stolen Da-mi's original designs. When Da-mi discovered the theft and confronted her, the designer pushed her off a coastal cliff to silence her for good. With the evidence gathered at the scene and Yeo-ri's uncanny instincts steering the investigation, the pair close the case and see the designer arrested. Gang-uk presses Yeo-ri once again on how she always seems to know exactly where to look, but she deflects his question just as she has every time before, unwilling to reveal the truth about the ghosts only she can see. Back on more personal ground, the episode slows down to explain why Kang Min-hwan has carried a quiet devotion to Yeo-ri since childhood. In flashback, Min-hwan discovers as a teenager that he was adopted, and Yeo-ri is the only person in his life who responds with warmth instead of pity, standing by him without hesitation. That unwavering support became the root of feelings that have lingered into adulthood, and Yeo-ri's grandmother, aware of Min-hwan's affection, begins gently steering Yeo-ri toward considering him as a future husband. Yeo-ri is caught off guard; she has only ever seen Min-hwan as a close friend, and the mismatch between her grandmother's hopes and her own feelings adds new tension to the love triangle forming around her. The episode also reveals just how long Yeo-ri has carried her burden alone. Her family brought in shaman after shaman over the years hoping to free her from the spirits that haunt her, and every attempt failed. Rather than admit nothing worked, Yeo-ri has spent years quietly telling her grandmother she is fine while continuing to see ghosts in private, isolating herself instead of letting anyone share the weight of it. The episode's comic centerpiece arrives when a frustrated, off-duty Yeo-ri goes out to drink alone and stumbles into Gang-uk and his prosecutor colleagues at the same bar. Too tipsy to register what she's doing, she ends up drinking with the group, and in a careless moment peels off the gloves she wears to keep her curse from spreading to anyone she touches. What follows is a chaotic, very funny sequence in which she playfully tears open Gang-uk's shirt and grabs his hand without a second thought, leaving him to half-carry her home, thoroughly bewildered. The next day, mortified once the memory resurfaces, Yeo-ri sends over a replacement shirt as an apology; when Gang-uk comes to her door to return the gesture, she invites him inside. It's there that Gang-uk sees something he can't explain away: a small ghost boy standing quietly in the room, visible only to the two of them. He brushes off the encounter in the moment, but the boy's spirit follows him home, and once he's alone, the truth crashes down on him — he can see ghosts now too. His reaction is pure panic, giving the episode its most purely comedic stretch as the once-composed prosecutor scrambles to cope with an ability he never wanted. Yeo-ri, recognizing exactly what he's going through, comes to his house to help him steady himself, and the shared ordeal pulls the two of them noticeably closer, forging a new supernatural bond that goes beyond solving cases together.
