Episode 2 begins with Park Hae-gang realizing that the apartment complex's enormous reserve fund is the only realistic way to raise the ten billion won needed to save Yong-man and keep HK Group alive. After confirming the existence of the hidden money through The Lizard, Hae-gang quickly understands that simply stealing the funds is impossible. Every transaction requires approval from the residents' association, and the association itself is tightly controlled by influential businessmen, lawyers, and long-time residents who have spent years protecting their own interests. To reach the money, Hae-gang decides he must first become one of them. Hae-gang gathers his trusted crew and presents an audacious plan: instead of breaking into the apartment complex, they will quietly infiltrate its community from the inside. Each member receives a new identity designed to blend into the residents' daily lives. While some pose as contractors and maintenance workers, others begin gathering information on the building's finances, security systems, and influential homeowners. The operation marks the beginning of an elaborate long-term con rather than a simple robbery. Meanwhile, Kang Ha-ri reluctantly finds herself pulled deeper into Hae-gang's world. Although she initially agreed only to help with the fake wedding, she becomes fascinated by the complicated relationships inside the apartment complex. Her legal knowledge proves unexpectedly useful as she studies the association's bylaws, election procedures, and financial records. As she spends more time with Hae-gang, she begins questioning whether he is truly a criminal or simply someone forced into desperate circumstances. Inside the apartment community, Hae-gang quickly discovers that the reserve fund is only part of a much larger web of corruption. Construction contracts have been manipulated, maintenance expenses secretly inflated, and several committee members appear to be receiving hidden kickbacks. Every person with authority has something to protect, making the upcoming residents' association election far more dangerous than anyone expected. Rather than stealing from innocent people, Hae-gang realizes he may be exposing an entire network of corruption that reaches far beyond the apartment gates. Determined to gain the residents' trust, Hae-gang begins presenting himself as an ordinary businessman who genuinely wants to improve the community. His unexpected charisma starts winning over several neighbors, though others remain suspicious of the mysterious newcomer. Among his strongest opponents are influential residents who immediately recognize that Hae-gang's arrival threatens their own financial interests. Quiet political maneuvering soon replaces open conflict, turning the election into a battle of manipulation, persuasion, and hidden agendas. By the end of the episode, Hae-gang officially announces his candidacy for the residents' association. While his team celebrates taking the first major step toward the reserve fund, an unseen observer watches their every move, hinting that someone already knows the true reason behind Hae-gang's campaign. As the election begins, it becomes clear that stealing the money will be far more difficult than anyone imagined, and that the apartment complex hides secrets even more valuable than the reserve fund itself.
